Nicole and Josh drove over from portland and met me at the Inn at Cape Kiwanda. The hotel was a perfect location to get ready, just steps from the beach. They both have strong ties to Pacific City. They got engaged here a few years back and they had their engagement photos taken here as well. Being able to be a part of their story meant a lot to me. Early spring is always a toss up when it comes to the Oregon Coast weather, but we got lucky. High sixties on the beach with a sunset that brought tears to my eyes. I even got sun burnt.
While the sun sunk below the horizon we walked up the sand dunes to capture the last of our session atop the cliffs of Cape Kiwanda. A perfectly calm evening with just a slight breeze to lift the bottom of Nicole’s dress up in the most surreal ways. It was incredible.
This styled elopement is one of my favorites as it is a refreshing dose of rawness paired with true love. No fancy decor, no fancy dresses; just the two of them, a low key table setup and their love. Nicole’s dress, found at Lulus, was simple but elegant. Josh wore a black pair of Levis and a button up from Portland’s Bridge and Burn. They ran around barefoot all evening and it felt so authentic being in their presence.
I am so thankful we were able to spend the time shooting, and thankful they volunteered for this session.
